4. Eat Whole Foods

Strong nutrition serves as the foundation for a robust immune system. To protect your health, you should eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats every day. Foods rich in vitamins C and D, and zinc hold the strongest prospective benefit for immunity. This especially applies to citrus fruits, leafy greens, eggs, fish, nuts and seeds. Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water as well.

5. Get Enough Sleep

Not getting enough sleep can negatively impact your immunity and increase your vulnerability to illness. Adults should strive for 7 – 9 hours of sleep each night. Taking the next step to develop a routine sleep schedule can further improve sleep. Before going to sleep, limiting caffeine later in the day, as well as having a nighttime routine with a relaxation component, can also help improve sleep.

6. Manage Stress and Mental Wellbeing

Continuous stress can reduce the immune system and put you at risk of illness. Dedicate time each day to relax or disengage in some other way. Mindfulness, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, or stretching or light yoga movements may help relieve anxiety and stress. You should also consider engaging in social activities, hobbies, or spending time in nature to shift your focus and mood shift while simultaneously positively affecting your mental well-being.

7. Get moving

Regular physical activity promotes immunity, helps to maintain proper lung function, and supports mental health. You don’t need a gym – try daily walks, simple stretches, home workouts, and light household chores. Moving more can be achieved in various forms. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity most days of the week.

8. Stay vaccinated and up to date

Vaccines and boosters have been demonstrated to lower the risk of serious illness and hospitalization from COVID-19. We encourage you to stay up to date on recommendations put out by health authorities. Make sure you had the appropriate vaccinations and booster doses recommended for yourself and family members, if applicable.

9. Disinfect high-touch surfaces

Clean and disinfect high-touch items and surfaces such as doorknobs, mobile phones, keyboards and countertops. Viruses can live on surfaces for hours and sometimes days, so regular cleaning provides an important layer of protection.This is one of the COVID Survival Kit

10. Stay Home if you are feeling unwell

If you are feeling unwell, coughing, fever, or other COVID-19 Like symptoms, it is important to isolate yourself, rest, and not go out. This protects others from illness while allowing you to recover.
